Formation of TEC

Candidates for membership in territorial election commissions are discussed at meetings of the regional and Tashkent city Kengashes of people's deputies and recommended to the Central Election Commission for approval.

 

The Central Election Commission forms territorial election commissions no less than eighty days before the elections, consisting of a chairperson, deputy chairperson, secretary of the commission, and twelve to eighteen other members.

 

Candidates for membership in district and city election commissions are discussed at meetings of the district and city Kengashes of people's deputies and recommended to the territorial election commission for approval.

 

The territorial election commission forms district and city election commissions no less than seventy-five days before the elections, consisting of a chairperson, deputy chairperson, secretary of the commission, and eight to eighteen other members.

 

In newly formed administrative-territorial units, the territorial election commission is formed by the Central Election Commission upon the recommendation of the Senate, while district and city election commissions are formed by the territorial election commission upon the recommendation of the relevant regional or Tashkent city Kengash of people's deputies no less than sixty days before the elections and exercise their powers until the announcement of the start of the next election campaign.

 

Territorial, district, and city election commissions publish information about their composition, address, and phone numbers on official websites and in printed publications.
